Aerial Yoga

YOGA FOR EVERYONE

“Each one of you carries the potential to blossom like flowers. When you blossom, petals of your mind open and the fragrance spread far and near.”
       ~ Banani Ray

What's Up with Aerial?

Aerial yoga combines traditional postures (asanas) from yoga on the mat with suspension in hammocks (nylon fabric securely suspended from the ceiling).

It might seem scary, but Aerial is a great introduction to yoga and  awesome for improving seasoned yogis.

Because the hammock supports much of your weight, you can focus more on how your body is meant to feel in particular asanas (postures).

Aerial also increase your range of motion, allowing you to go deeper into poses. Plus, support from the hammocks allow for more fluid movements while creating more space in the body without compressing your spine or joints.

All that means better form when you’re on your mat.

But Really, Why Hang Around?

Not only does Aerial yoga give you the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, it also:

  • Improves alignment
  • Decompresses your spine
  • Strengthens your core
  • Helps with balance
  • Makes for safe, easy inversions
  • Improves flexibility

And if THAT ‘S not enough:

A recent study by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) found that women who took three 50-minute aerial classes a week for six weeks lost about two and a half pounds and 2% body fat, took an inch off their waist lines, significantly increased their VO2 max (a measure of fitness), and lowered their blood pressure.
